Pride Cup

Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby are proud to have hosted the 1st Australian Roller Derby Pride Cup in June 2019. On the back of the success of this and the event of the Gippsland Pride Initiative, we are proud to continue these efforts of inclusion and celebration of the LGBTQI community for a second year and beyond.

This year, we look forward to bringing the Pride Cup of Roller Derby back to life for our third year at Warragul or Moe TBC on Saturday 9th November 2024! Playing our friends, the Gender Ending Story this event is a festival of organisations, groups and friends from and in support of the LGBTQI community, and a showcasing of the sport we love and the amazing humans of all genders and sexualities we are privileged to play with and against. This is event is so close to our hearts and our major event 'at home' in 2024

Statewide Stampede

Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby is proud to be a founding member of Team Regional Victoria - a collective of regional Victorian clubs who came together in 2015 to participate in what is now, Victoria's longest running roller derby tournament, the Statewide Stampede. The Statewide Stampede features 12+ clubs who come together once a month across the state of Victoria in a scheduled round-robin of games, with the finals in September and October each year. Proudly, our Past President Caitlin Grigsby has served as Tournament Director from 2016 to 2020.

In 2020, we took a temporary leave from Team Regional Victoria to partner with Diamond Valley Roller Derby Club and Geelong Roller Derby Club to form the 'Valley Cats'. We are excited about this new development and the opportunity to welcome a new club into the tournament through this opportunity.

2023 sees Diamond Valley Roller Derby form their own team once again, leading to Geelong Roller Derby Club and Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby forming the ‘Pivot City Ranges’.

Statewide Stampede is independently run and managed by the roller derby clubs participating from across Victoria, and is made possible thanks to the continued support of Skate Victoria.
